Since today was 9/11, and, ironically enough, I was also in Orange County seven years ago today -- on 9/11/2001 -- I thought I'd post a link to the story of how I ended up at Disneyland on 9/12 and 9/13/2001. On both visits, the flags were at half staff in tribute to those who were murdered. |

Look to the left
Having walked from Disney's Grand Californian through Downtown Disney,
the entrance to Disneyland is on your left from the esplanade.
That's not Pluto with the guards.

Art at the Monorail at Tomorrowland
Let's see if I can sum up the 3 hour visit to Disneyland: Entered at 5 p.m., walked down Main Street U.S.A. turned right at the Hub for Tomorrowland -- rode: Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters, Space Mountain, exited Tomorrowland and rode: Matterhorn Bobsleds, then entered Toon Town and rode: Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin, off to Frontierland to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, over to New Orleans Square for Pirates of the Caribbean, in to Adventureland for Jungle Cruise and Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye, quickly back to Tomorrowland moments before park closing for Star Tours and then the Monorail ride back to Downtown Disney. (Unfortunately, we didn't get to ride Monorail Blue, the new Mark VII being tested on the rails...rode old Monorail Purple, the Mark V). Then dinner at ESPN Zone.
