Jim Henson Studios
On La Brea in Los Angeles, not too many blocks south of Hollywood Blvd. Kermit is dressed as Charlie Chaplin because this studio complex was built by Charlie Chaplin in 1917. The Jim Henson Company acquired the lot after several other owners in 1999 according to its website. Kermit, of course, is no longer owned by Henson, having been sold to Disney along with the rest of the Muppets.

Turns out that the show uses the actual Chicago City Council Chamber. I thought it was just a very good copy on the show, but I took a tour of City Hall on Sunday and it turns out that the Council scenes are actually shot here.

Walks around Chicago
Since May 15, I've been taking walks around the north side of Chicago with my iPhone in hand for exercise. As of August 30, 2012, according to a GPS app I've been using to track my walks, I've racked up over 300 miles. The photo mosaic below is made of some of the 2000+ photos I've taken on those walks. Disney's Doorway to Dreams
Closing on September 15, 2012. I guess Disney believes that they've sold as many "Vacation Club" memberships to Chicagoans while they're in Chicagoland that they can sell.

Tour of Wrigley Field
Took the tour of Wrigley Field today for the first time in over 30 years. Among other things, this tour visited the press box and the field, and there was no risk of seeing the Cubs lose, because it was an off-day. Lots of photos added to the end of the Chicago slideshow on ASD's Home Town Chicago page. Here is a sampling.
